A Dream Realized

In the heart of Barolo, where the sun-kissed hills of the Langhe cradle the vines, Cascina Adelaide stands as a testament to passion and tradition. This winery, nestled beside a gentle stream, features an underground cellar that offers a unique view of the winemaking process, showcasing the transformation of grapes into exquisite wine.

The Visionary Winemaker

Cascina Adelaide was founded by Amabile Drocco in 2000, fulfilling his lifelong dream after leaving his mechanical business to his sons. This winery pays homage to his father, a farmer from a bygone era, and symbolizes a return to the land, honoring family traditions and the rich heritage of the Langhe region.

In January 2021, Amabile's granddaughter, Chiara, joined the winery, bringing fresh energy and a deep love for the land and its fruits. With 12 hectares of vineyards, including 10 dedicated to Nebbiolo da Barolo and eight historical "cru" across five towns, Cascina Adelaide is committed to producing high-quality wines. The remaining 2 hectares feature traditional varieties like Barbera, Langhe Nebbiolo, Dolcetto di Diano D'Alba, and Nascetta, the region's only indigenous white grape.

At Cascina Adelaide, every bottle tells a story of family, tradition, and the unique terroir of Barolo, making it a must-visit for wine enthusiasts and travelers alike.

Cascina Adelaide was the best welcome we could expect from Barolo. The visit to the cellar, in keeping with the journey of the grapes, was very pleasant and understandable even for those who, like me, have little technical knowledge. The tasting delighted us, we really liked the four proposals, we were particularly impressed by Amabilin, we even took it with us to Florence. Many thanks to Sara who, in addition to her undoubted competence and professionalism, made us feel at home and welcomed us with great kindness and enthusiasm. Highly recommended. Sofia and company.

Absolutely a winery in Barolo which is worth a visit! We were welcomed by Sarah, very kind woman with a lot of knowledge about wine production and wines itself. She at first tell us about their vineyards, explain the grape journey and even show us machines they use for processing the grapes. All the details in their establishment have some meaning, which you can find out if you visit them. Sarah made our tasting of excellent wines even more pleasureable because of her good energy. 10/10 Time of a visit: 26/9/2024

We took a very interesting tour of the winery. Fantastic to see how modern Barolo is made. The explanation is energetic and entertaining. You see how much passion they have from the grape to the final product. The house has beautiful wines. We already knew the winery and always take wine with us when we are here. Unfortunately the house is not yet available in the Netherlands. The tour with tasting is highly recommended! And then a nice lunch at Barolo.
