Anne Amie Vineyards, Their Beginnings and Aim of the Winery
Anne Amie Vineyards is a charming winery located in the Willamette Valley of Oregon. Dr. Robert Pamplin, one of Oregon’s forward-thinking entrepreneurs, bought the historic Chateau Benoit Winery in 1999 intending to create wines of the highest quality that reflect his passion, love, and dedication for winemaking. Winemaker Thomas Houseman and vineyard manager Peter Ebbers assist him, having devoted their livelihoods to the pursuit of excellent winemaking.
Anne Amie Winery is a proud partner of Yamhill-Carlton Winegrowers Association and the Chehalem Mountains Winegrowers, and recently in 2019, the estate celebrated its 20th harvest.
A Beautiful Estate and Sustainable Winemaking at the Winery
The winery has grapes coming from two distinct AVAs, Yamhill-Carlton and the Chehalem Mountains. With excellent vineyards sites, they have top quality grapes available to produce unique cool-climate Pinot wines at the winery. All vineyards are LIVE certified and Salmon Safe. There is a strict following of sustainable and organic farming methods, and the vines receive minimal human intervention or chemical fertilizers and pesticides. Their goal is to help protect the environment and grow grapes with high complexity and depth of flavor. The vineyard manager is responsible for taking care of all aspects, as great winemaking begins in the vineyard. Enjoy a visit to the Anne Amie tasting room to admire their breathtaking views of the vineyards and the mountains.
Grape Varieties and Wines of Anne Amie Winery
Pinot is the region’s primary grape varietal, and they grow Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Meunier, and Riesling in their vineyards. In 1979, Muller-Thurgau was planted and remains a complementary addition to their Pinot wines. The best grapes are sorted and further processed to make their world-class red, white, rosé, and sparkling wines. Anne Amie offers wines in three ranges, their Classic, Reserve, and Cuvée wines.
