Brooks Winery: A Legacy of Organic and Biodynamic Farming

Established in 1998, Brooks Winery embodies the vision of Jimi Brooks, a passionate Portland native. Although Jimi passed away in 2004, his spirit continues to thrive through his wines, family, and friends. His son, Pascal, is the youngest winery owner globally, while his sister, Janie Brooks Heuck, dedicates her time to guiding the winery's vision. Chris Williams, a close friend of Jimi, oversees winemaking and vineyard management.

Exceptional Rieslings and Pinot Noirs

At Brooks, organic and biodynamic farming practices are essential. The winery specializes in producing exquisite Riesling and Pinot Noir, both ideally suited to the cool climate of the Willamette Valley. Janie acquired a 20-acre Eola Hills Vineyard in 2009, which is planted with Pinot Noir and Riesling. The Brooks Estate Vineyard, home to vines over 35 years old, contributes nearly one-third of the grapes used in production. Brooks offers over 20 different Rieslings, including single vineyard designates, sparkling, and dessert varieties. Notably, Brooks is the only winery in the world certified biodynamic, 1% for the Planet, and a B Corp.

Stunning Views and Tasting Experience

Visitors to Brooks Winery can enjoy breathtaking views of four mountains on clear days. The winery features a full kitchen that offers food pairings to complement the wines. In 2019, Brooks was recognized as a top 100 winery in the world, and 2014 marked a significant milestone with the opening of a new winery and tasting room, along with the release of the documentary ‘American Wine Story.’ Today, production has grown to over 12,000 cases annually.

Such a great experience! Sarah gave us a tour and the food pairing 101 guide to learn about how different elements of taste interact with wines. Tons of wine and a lovely cheese platter to finish and play around. One of the few places doing sparkling and Riesling which was delicious. Their whites really shine but they had an old library Pinot open that was incredible as well.

Even though the day was not sunny, they have a covered patio and heater, and everything was warm and cozy. The food is always excellent as usual. The dessert today was Panna cotta and it just melted in your mouth. So happy to be a member I got caramels that are way better than what I can make myself at home. One is a star shaped, which is incredible and oh so cute. Yes I ate it before I could take a picture. Wish I could take pictures of the food, but I ate my plate as soon as I got on the table- as well as all the other delicious things we ordered. Cremini mushrooms, grilled cheese and tomato, and a perfect dish with wine with gnocchi and chicken and vegetables. I got the amycas (?) and the dessert wine was sweet pea, which was not too sweet and with the dessert. My husband had to Syrah and it was so good with the chauterie plate

A wonderful wine tasting: one with 3 Pinot and 3 Riesling; one with 6 reds& the food (best salad Ive ever eaten; gnochi; fries) was delicious! Nice to have some fantastic, varied food selections to accompany our tastings. We sat on the patio& had an awesome view of the vineyards below. We were impressed with our lovely server whose knowledge about Brooks vineyard, and its' wines was extensive.

We had a wonderful wine tasting experience with friends from the Netherlands for their first time. Jenna did an outstanding job that made for such a fun time. We even bought a bottle of wine to sent back to Holland. We will come back and request Jenna. Happy New Year almost.
