The Winery Certified by Live and Salmonsafe Since 1999
Located in a beautiful setting at Oregon’s Dundee Hills, Winter’s Hill is a family-owned and operated winery. It is run by the Gladhart family, who are responsible for all the work in the vineyards to making the wines and hosting their guests. The 150-acre estate includes thirty-five acres of vineyards, and, oak and fir forests. Emily and Peter Gladhart planted the first vines in 1990, and ever since the beginning, they follow sustainable and organic practices at their estate. Russell and Delphine joined the family business in 2004, and Delphine took on the duties of the winemaker. As a recognition of their efforts for the protection of the land and environment, the winery has been certified by LIVE and SalmonSafe since 1999. Apart from making wines, they also sell grapes to many other Oregon wineries.
Some of the Best Grapes in the Oregon Region
Their vineyards present in Dundee Hills grow some of the best grapes in the Oregon region, and their property borders the best vineyards, including Vista Hills, Stoller, and Domaine Serene. There is a gentle Southern slope and the best soil that grows high-quality grapes. All the work in the vineyards from pruning to the harvesting of grapes is done by hands. The main grape varietals that grow in their vineyards are Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, and Rosé of Pinot Noir. The best grapes are handpicked and used to make their top-class red, white, rose, sparkling, and dessert wines. Their grapes and wines are of immense quality, and they often get complimented for making ‘Vineyard Designated’ wines.
