A Sustainable Oregon Winery with LIVE and SalmonSafe Certification
Winter's Hill Estate: A Commitment to Sustainability
Situated in the picturesque Dundee Hills of Oregon, Winter's Hill Estate is a family-owned winery dedicated to sustainable practices. The Gladhart family, who have been at the helm since the winery's inception, manage everything from vineyard care to winemaking and guest experiences. Spanning 150 acres, the estate features 35 acres of meticulously tended vineyards alongside lush oak and fir forests. Since planting their first vines in 1990, Emily and Peter Gladhart have prioritized organic farming methods. Their commitment to environmental stewardship has earned Winter's Hill the prestigious LIVE and SalmonSafe certifications since 1999. In addition to crafting their own wines, they also supply grapes to various Oregon wineries.
Exceptional Grapes from Dundee Hills
The vineyards at Winter's Hill Estate are renowned for producing some of the finest grapes in Oregon. Nestled among esteemed neighbors like Vista Hills, Stoller, and Domaine Serene, the estate benefits from a gentle southern slope and rich soil, ideal for grape cultivation. Every aspect of vineyard management, from pruning to harvesting, is performed by hand to ensure quality. The primary grape varieties grown here include Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, and Rosé of Pinot Noir. The handpicked grapes are transformed into a range of high-quality wines, including red, white, rosé, sparkling, and dessert wines. Winter's Hill is often praised for its 'Vineyard Designated' wines, reflecting the exceptional quality of their grapes and winemaking expertise.
