The story of your estate—from the original vineyards of the 1950s to the revitalization of the "Serra de Montargil" in 2010—is exactly the kind of authentic narrative our visitors appreciate. The integration of your traditional agro-forestry system with the modern production of Argilla wines creates a truly unique profile for the Alentejo region.
Anta de Cima, the Tenreiro’s family property, is located in “Serra de Montargil”, Portalegre distric, part of Alentejo region. The estate is based on the region’s traditional agroforesty production system, where the cork oak and the pinus pinea forest are shepherded by sheeps and native alentejo’s breed pigs.
The vines explore the most fertile soils of the estate, clay and mediterranean soils, well drained, mainly exposed to the south, with a moderate slope.
In 2010, by the hands of the Tenreiro’s family, the vineyard in Montargil, with an area of 8 hectares, resurfaced and in 2012 the rst bottles of white and red ARGILLA were produced.
It is a new cycle that begins, a family project that seeks to unite tradition and modernity, respecting the terroir of the mountain range and the damn of Montargil, searching for unique and authentic wines.
