Avantis Estate is where history and passion converge.

The Story Behind the Name

Avantis is the ancient name of the Evia region, home to the Avantes, the first Greek tribe to settle here. Known as fearless warriors, they rode valiantly into battle. Today, Ktima Avantis, a boutique winery, honors this legacy by embodying the same values in its winemaking practices.

A Family Tradition of Winemaking

Winemaking at Avantis Estate is a cherished family tradition passed down through generations. Apostolos’s great-grandfather planted the first grapevines in 1830, and in 1994, Apostolos himself planted the estate's first vines. This dedication led to Avantis Estate being recognized as the first Greek wine in the Guinness World Records (1998 edition).

The Ideal Environment for Vines

For grapevines to thrive, they require the right climate and nurturing care. Avantis Estate offers a Mediterranean climate with hot summers and long, dry autumns, creating an ideal setting for producing red, white, rosé, and dessert wines. Situated at an elevation of 250 to 500 meters on semi-mountainous slopes, the estate's vines receive essential nutrients, ensuring high-quality grapes.

An excellent winery worth visiting. A wonderful wine tasting by Anna who is well known in the area and answered all our questions. Very friendly, clean, quiet environment that puts you at ease and makes you not want to leave. Pictures that take your mind off everyday life. Incredible wines that you want to have all of them. We were a group of six people and each of us got a sixer but we still didn't have enough. Didn't know what to choose. Thank you for this experience, we will be back soon! Anna, you are a wonderful sweet creature who is a diamond for the “Avandis” company 🥰♥️

Fantastic wine tasting experience! The two girls who took the tour were excellent (sorry, I can't remember the names). They seem knowledgeable and willing to explain everything about wine, flavors, winemaking, etc. The winery is small and family owned, with a nice cellar and several interesting labels. There is also a place where you can enjoy a facial using grape-based cosmetic products made by the owner himself. You can also book a wine tasting package including wines and food if you wish. 🍷🍷
