Our Story: Building a Sustainable Vineyard and Winery

What began as a simple passion for winemaking has blossomed into a thriving vineyard. In 2006, we embraced eco-friendly practices and started cultivating our vineyards using integrated management systems and organic farming methods. By 2009, we established our first privately owned winery, focusing on producing high-quality wines that reflect the unique microclimate of Central Greece.

Crafting Exceptional Wines with Care and Precision

Located at an elevation of 470 meters, Liakou Winery maximizes the potential of grapes sourced from our vineyards and local agricultural partners within 3 km. This proximity ensures quick delivery, preserving the grapes' freshness. We cool the grapes in a dedicated freezing room for at least 24 hours to maintain their organic qualities. Utilizing gravity for gentle crushing, we process the grapes in specially designed fermentation tanks at controlled temperatures. After fermentation, the wine ages in carefully selected French oak barrels, tailored to enhance each grape variety.

A lovely mid day stop when hitting meteora. It is a family run vinyard that has delicious wines and a great atmosphere. If you are visiting meteora it is a great place to take a mid day break.

Excellent small local winery! Vassilis (second generation owner) gave us a great tour of the facilities. We tried the four wine flight and all of the wines were great. We especially liked the Xinomavro, as well as the Cabernet-Syrah blend. Lovely place!

My wife and I visited the Liakou Winery in Meteora and were incredibly impressed with the friendliness and hospitality of the team there and with the quality of the wine! Liakou Winery is maybe a 20 minute drive from Kalambaka and nestled in cute rural area within eye shot of the Meteora rocks. We had a wine tasting, along with a charcuterie board and greatly enjoyed our time there. On top of that, there were cats outside which were adorable!!! We would highly recommend a visit!
