Azienda Agricola Sukula, Producers of Barolo Wines

The Piedmont region in Italy is known for producing some of the best quality wines in the world. With that, it is not surprising that there are quite a number of wineries in this region. Among them is Azienda Agricola Sukula. The wines produced by this winery are special because they use grapes grown on the family’s vineyards located in Barolo region. The family-run artisanal wine estate has been producing world-class wines since 2006, nestled in the heart of the Barolo DOCG zone.

Limited Production, High Quality

With each step of the winemaking process being completed by hand, Sukula wines are a true artisanal and high-valued product. Currently, the estate produces Barolo (Meriame cru) and Barbera d'Alba, both of which have won awards. Sukula may not have decades of historical vintages to fall back on, but the wine it produces is of the finest quality and has received honors from renowned wine experts all over the world. King and Queen of Italian Grapes: Nebbiolo and Barbera

The Sukula winery focuses mainly on two types of Italian grapes: nebbiolo and barbera. Nebbiolo is one of the world's most magnificent grape types, called after the namesake fog that blankets the slopes of the Barolo zone. Nebbiolo is a late-ripening, thin-skinned grape that produces a light-colored, acidic wine. DOCG Barolo bottlings can be exceptionally fragrant and delicate on the palate, displaying the highest expression of the nebbiolo grape. Barbera is one of the most popular types of grapes in the Langhe wine region. As a result, there are a lot of different styles, most barberas have a lot of brightness and red fruit flavors. Sukula Barbera d'Alba has a deep crimson color, a powerful berry aroma, and a well-balanced acidity.
