Experience the Unique Nebbiolo di Dronero in Piedmont's Foothills
Azienda Agricola Mauro Vini: Taste the Unique Nebbiolo di Dronero
Located at the entrance of Valle Maira in the picturesque Cuneo Province of Piedmont, Azienda Agricola Mauro Vini boasts ten hectares of lush vineyards nestled between Villar S. Costanzo and Dronero. Here, wine enthusiasts can savor the exceptional Nebbiolo di Dronero, a rare variety cultivated from vines that date back to the 1300s.
A Winery with a Rich Heritage
Founded in 1895 by Vittorio Emanuele in Roddino d’Alba, the winery has a storied history. Vittorio and his father initially sold wines in Argentina after emigrating, before establishing their roots in Dronero. In 1924, Mauro Vini officially set up its headquarters in Dronero. Today, the fifth generation of the Mauro family, Giuseppe Mauro and his sister Rossana, manage the winery, overseeing every aspect of production from winemaking to aging and bottling. They adhere to traditional vinification methods, ensuring the quality of their rare wines. The winery is particularly known for its Nebbiolo di Dronero, a unique varietal.
The Key to Quality: Exceptional Vines
In addition to Nebbiolo, Azienda Agricola Mauro Vini cultivates local varieties like Barbera, producing rich and flavorful red wines. The winery has the capacity to store approximately 5,000 hectoliters of wine and can bottle around 4,000 bottles per hour. For those interested in tasting the rare Drôné wine, a visit to this northern Italian winery promises a memorable experience.
