A Legacy of the Itria Valley: Five Generations of Viticulture
Winemaking takes place in the heart of the Itria Valley, between Martina Franca, Locorotondo, and Cisternino—on the very same land our ancestors chose for their first vineyards. Today, Marco Emilio Santoro manages the estate as its fifth generation.
With the goal of creating an interactive agro-ecosystem that allows for the organic management of the entire winery, various areas have been acquired over the years: forests, pastures, olive groves, and arable land. Typical of the region is the red, nitrogen-poor soil, consisting partly of clay, silt, and sand, and rich in potassium and stones. The karst subsoil and the region's significant temperature fluctuations favor the production of high-quality wines.
