Dalila ed Emanuela Gianfreda, sisters and owners of Antica Masseria Jorche represent nowadays the 5th generation of a family producing wine, mostly Primitivo, since the beginning of the last century in the '20s.

A Winery and their Story

Grand grandfather Giovanni owned one of the first palamientu (the ancient form of winery) in Torricella, a small village in the South of Puglia, right in the heart of the Primitivo di Manduria area. The story continued with grandfather Cosimo, who was the first one to build a modern kind of winery, then with the father Antonio, who was the first in the family to study as an enologist and run the business reorganizing it and bringing new technical competencies.

Childhood Memories that Lingeried of Grapes

Growing up close in contact with a family influenced by wines, early childhood memories lingered of grapes during the harvest and the smell of the must in the winery during the fermentation for this family. Therefore, since childhood an intimate relationship was developed with the Apulian territory, the wine culture, and the traditions of our region, a place rich in history and fascination.

Moving On

Since 2009, the sisters started to lead together the Jorche winery, a company completely managed by women: Dalila takes care of the marketing and communication aspects with a particular interest to the international markets and also supervises the organization of the Masseria close to the Winery, in which there is the hospitality of Italian and foreign guests who search for traditional cuisine, relax and contact with nature. Emanuela instead takes care of the conduction of the vineyards and of the vinification and the bottling processes.

Amazing! Great atmosphere, food and wine. We only stayed one night, but we did participate in the wine tour and diner. Both were really wonderful. Would recommend!

Masseria Jorche is a wonderful place, the fabulous structure is surrounded by an immense garden with many Mediterranean plants, olive trees and eucalyptus trees. Its beautiful swimming pool completes an unforgettable stay, in the morning we enjoyed an exquisite sweet and savory breakfast and what to say about dinner in the semi-underground oil mill accompanied by an excellent wine from the Jorche winery. The girls Dalila and Emanuela are very professional and kind. A holiday to remember and I hope to return next year. I recommend everyone to spend an unforgettable holiday. 💗

Highly recommended! It was really relaxing to spend the weekend in this farm surrounded by greenery, silence and complete relaxation. Not to mention the excellent cuisine and the infinite availability of the staff. I can certainly give it a "RATING 10".

We only had dinner. They served us an aperitif outside at sunset with typical products. The atmosphere was relaxing and satisfying. Glasses of homemade sparkling wine accompanied taralli, olives, lupins, fried broad beans, courgette rolls, focaccia bread with cherry tomatoes, mozzarella and oregano, puccette with courgettes, peppers and aubergines, ricotta meatballs, in short, a triumph of flavours. Dinner varies every night with a set menu. On this occasion they served us, inside an old oil mill, macaroni with cream of peppers, caciocavallo podolico sauce and crispy pepper, while the main course was veal cheek in its sauce with mashed potatoes and red beetroot. The wines on the menu, also made by them, are not exorbitantly priced, but if you don't want to overindulge you can also order by the glass. The staff treated us with attention and kindness. We will happily return.

An oasis of peace. Typical Apulian country house, very nice pool, breakfast with exclusively homemade products. Very good dinner in the underground restaurant of the establishment. Very good wine. Super friendly staff and always ready to satisfy all needs. We will be back soon.
