Produttori di Manduria- Winery with Historical Memory of the Apulian Wine World

The winery, Produttori di Manduria, established in 1932, is today the historical memory of the Apulian wine world. The story began when a group of experienced winemakers took over an old factory and set up the Wine Federation. Four years later, on 9th July 1932, they started the wine co-operative. The Produttori di Manduria owns more than 1000 hectares of vineyards now, of which are half are grown with the traditional sapling system.

Museum inside the Winery

The winery has a rich tradition in making Primitivo di Manduria D.O.C wines and takes care of the environment too. Since 2018, it is certified as a sustainable company by the E-QUALITAS standard. There is a Museum of the Wine Primitivo Culture at the winery, created to remind the men and the objects that marked the history of Primitivo wine.

It has thirty underground cisterns that show life in past years here. It also stages wine tasting for guests and visitors to the estate.

Winery Using Integrated Pest Management System

Half of the vineyards are planted with the Primitivo grape while Fiano, Malvasia, and Negroamaro grapes also grow. These are used to make red, white, rose, sparkling, and dessert wines. The density of plants ranges between 4000 to 5000 per hectare. They use integrated pest management to protect the vineyards. The winery always believed and invested in the quality of Primitivo, which makes wines with a strong personality and taste. The full range offers several variations to delight with some of them, including MEMORIA, LIRICA, ELEGIA, SONETTO, MADRIGALE, etc.
