Produttori di Manduria - A Pillar of Apulian Winemaking

Founded in 1932, Produttori di Manduria stands as a cornerstone of the Apulian wine industry. The winery's origins trace back to a group of skilled winemakers who revitalized an old factory, forming the Wine Federation. By July 9, 1932, they established a cooperative that has since grown to encompass over 1,000 hectares of vineyards, with half cultivated using the traditional sapling system.

Wine Museum: A Tribute to Primitivo Culture

Renowned for its Primitivo di Manduria D.O.C wines, the winery is also committed to sustainability, having received E-QUALITAS certification in 2018. Within the estate, the Museum of Primitivo Culture showcases the history and craftsmanship behind this iconic wine. Visitors can explore thirty underground cisterns that reflect the region's winemaking heritage and participate in wine tastings that highlight the winery's offerings.

Innovative Vineyard Practices

At Produttori di Manduria, half of the vineyards are dedicated to the Primitivo grape, complemented by Fiano, Malvasia, and Negroamaro varieties. These grapes contribute to a diverse range of wines, including red, white, rosé, sparkling, and dessert options. The vineyard density ranges from 4,000 to 5,000 plants per hectare, and the winery employs an integrated pest management system to ensure the health of the vines. The commitment to quality is evident in their wines, which feature distinct personalities and flavors, with notable selections like MEMORIA, LIRICA, ELEGIA, SONETTO, and MADRIGALE.

Did a great tasting of four wines at no charge and bought a few bottles you can order for international shopping online, all the primitivos were fabulous the top riserve is very strong at 16% you can really taste it on the finish so for those who prefer more subtle go for the slightly lower riserve

As an ONAV wine taster I can say that this is one of the most interesting guided tours and tastings in Puglia. The museum is unique and the tasting is excellent. You must try the Primitivo Dolce DOCG Madrigale!

If you are in Salento, a visit to this winery is a memory that will stay with you. It is the oldest in Puglia and you can immerse yourself in the past in its museum. The best moment comes with the very well-guided tasting to discover the Primitivo, the sommelier is very good and answers many curiosities about other vineyards as well. We buy wines of absolute value.

Winegrowers' cooperative. Offers wine tastings and wine purchases. It's possible to buy wine boxes at the pump. A small museum is also open upon reservation. The rooms are housed in the cooperative's former concrete vats. The museum tour concludes with a tasting accompanied by a few appetizers.
