A Visionary Beginning in Verduno
Bel Colle was born from a happy and far-sighted decision, driven by the passion and insight of winemaker Paolo Torchio. His commitment transformed the winery into one of the most important in Verduno, becoming the first Italian producer of Verduno Pelaverga and a key figure in the renaissance of this historic area. From its inception, Bel Colle has been a symbol of innovation rooted in tradition.
Embracing Native Vines and Winemaking Elegance
In the 1990s, Bel Colle made a bold move to invest in native Langhe varieties: Nebbiolo for Barolo and Barbaresco, as well as Barbera and Dolcetto. At the same time, the winery looked ahead by focusing on white varietals like Arneis, Favorita, and the rare Nascetta of Novello. Under Torchio’s leadership, Bel Colle wines became known for their clean, elegant style—wines marked by finesse, grace, and a unique, austere femininity.
A New Era Rooted in Legacy and Innovation
Since 2015, the Bosio family has led Bel Colle into a new chapter, enhancing vineyard management and refining quality across key appellations like Barolo, Barbaresco, and Alta Langa. Today, the winery is directed by Luca Bosio, representing the bold spirit of a new generation, and Mario Albrito, a seasoned expert with over 40 harvests and deep knowledge of the Langhe terroir. Together, they champion a sustainable approach to viticulture and precise parcel selection, expressing the authentic soul of the Langhe in every bottle.

My girlfriend and I decided to explore the world of wine. We live in the province of Varese and are fortunate enough to be near Piedmont, one of Italy's most prestigious wine regions. So we thought: why not start here? After a quick Google search, we opted for an organic wine tasting. The journey by car allowed us to cross evocative landscapes, and we finally arrived at Bel Colle, where we were welcomed into a magnificent room. Shortly after, Priscilla, our guide for the experience, arrived. We were lucky because there were only two of us. Priscilla asked us what had brought us there and what we expected from the experience. He then decided to personalize the itinerary based on our interests and adapt it specifically for us. After an introduction to the different wine-growing areas and how soil, altitude, and exposure influence the wines, Priscilla explained the different production processes to us. We toured the warehouse with its magnificent barrels and then descended into the cellar, where 200,000 bottles of wine are stored. Finally, we proceeded to the tasting, accompanied by a delicious platter of typical products. Priscilla let us taste several wines, even more than we expected. His passionate and engaging explanations conveyed his love for his work and awakened in us a desire to explore this fascinating world of wine even further. We can't thank her enough for the kindness and care with which she welcomed us. At the end of the tasting, we were able to take home two exceptional bottles, which we were able to sample at the tasting.

Tried their first tasting event with lunch for Easter Monday. Regarding the food I can say that, for a tasting, we ate enough considering 6 courses with as many glasses including the vitello tonnato where the sauce was among the best I've ever eaten (I even had an encore 😅). High quality wine well presented by Priscilla who, thanks also to her colleague, managed to create a pleasant environment despite the small mishap with the cutlery... well remedied by the hostess herself, well done! It's a shame we didn't have the chance to see the cellars, also given the beautiful weather there. It's the first event of its kind they've done but I hope to be able to do a second one soon 👌🏻
