Rich Traditions and the Winemaking Story of the Marino Family

Beppe Marino Winery was established in 1972 in Santo Stefano Belbo, the birthplace of renowned author Cesare Pavese. Nestled between the Langhe and Monferrato regions, this area is famous for producing the exquisite Moscato d’Asti. The Marino family has deep roots in the Monferrato and Langhe regions, evident in their vineyards, winery, and the historic farmhouse managed by Beppe Marino, his wife Rosalba, and their son Maurizio. With dedication and passion, they strive to create exceptional wines that reflect the quality of their rich terroir and uphold their family’s winemaking legacy.

Exceptional Wines from a UNESCO World Heritage Site

With courage, entrepreneurial spirit, and a love for challenges, the Marino family successfully passes their winemaking traditions from one generation to the next. Their philosophy centers on producing high-quality wines that respect the origins and surrounding landscape, now recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The family cultivates 12 hectares of vineyards on the hills of Castelnuovo Calcea and Santo Stefano Belbo, growing varieties such as Dolcetto, Barbera, Brachetto, Moscato, and Chardonnay. These grapes are used to craft a diverse range of red, white, sparkling, dessert, and fortified wines.

A Perfect Blend of Tradition and Modern Technology

Only the finest grapes are selected to create some of the best wines in Piedmont. In 2016, Beppe Marino relocated production to the Daughters of San Giuseppe Monastery, where the nuns historically crafted a special “Moscato for Mass,” used by priests across Italy for liturgical services. This unique setting allows the winery to combine rich traditions with modern winemaking technology, ensuring that each bottle reflects the essence of the region.

Fascinating and authentic tour of the production line and history of the Winery. Tasting was in a garden peacefully separated from the outer world, and they are incredibly generous people!

Hospitality is very important here and the tasting in the garden was a pleasure in many ways! The wine is excellent and has a great price-performance ratio!

Excellent wines, discovered almost by chance during a dinner at a restaurant with friends, but the choice has never been more appropriate! We will definitely go to the winery to buy them! Four rows... a guarantee!

The Quattrofilari is definitely a reference for Nizza. The other wines too, all of excellent workmanship. A guarantee. The welcome in the cellar is of the same, high, level. Excellent.

Excellence of the territory, its jewels are found in the urn of the convent where the company is based. The quality is remarkable, I was able to appreciate the Monparone, the Moscato Miray just to mention what caught my attention in addition to the preparation and courtesy of the owner. Congratulations to all the staff.

Chiara told us lots of interesting things about the family and the vineyards in the beautiful garden of the historic building, where nuns once made wine for liturgy. We listened to her with great interest - a family business with a lot of passion for wine produces excellent quality. We tasted excellent Chardonnay, Barbera and DOCG Riserva "Nizza". Everyone was very friendly to us, we really enjoyed it and we will be back next year to choose more wines.

This place is simply wonderful! A wine is produced within old monastery walls that has been a consistently great product for years! A friendly, family atmosphere and professional production. Grazie, Beppe e famiglia!
