Bodega La Setera: A Unique Winery and Cheese Producer

Bodega La Setera is a small, dedicated winery nestled in the picturesque La Setera valley, near the majestic Duoro River. Founded in 1994 by biologists Sara and Francisco, this winery emphasizes sustainability and biodiversity in its production processes. Initially starting as a goat cheese factory, they expanded into wine production in 2003. Their commitment to the community and the preservation of the region's natural and cultural heritage has been a driving force behind their success.

Exceptional Quality Wines

Located in the Arribes del Duero natural region, Bodega La Setera benefits from a rich biodiversity and pristine environment. The winery produces only 10,000 bottles of wine each year, ensuring that every bottle reflects high quality and care. The grapes are cultivated without chemical treatments, allowing the true essence of the land to shine through in each sip.

Artisan Goat Cheeses

The goat cheeses at Bodega La Setera are crafted with the same dedication to quality as their wines. Sourced from local farmers whose goats graze on the lush Arribes land, the milk used in production is natural and minimally processed. This results in rich, flavorful cheeses that highlight the unique characteristics of the region.

Excellent wines, I bought the selection and the Crianza and I loved them both, I will have to come back for more. I bought sheep's cheese, and I also liked it a lot, even though the most cured one they had at that time had only been cured for a month. Very good site.

Some friends recommended La Setera white wine to me…exquisite. The woman who helped me treated me very pleasantly and professionally, which is also appreciated. (And what can we say about the young red wine, very good!!!)

It's nice to find places like this where there is such good taste in the art of wine and cheese. I will definitely repeat when I return here. His great professionalism and experience has been noted. I definitely recommend the goat cheese roll and the special selection wine, WONDERFUL.

Cheeses made in the same store. With milk from local sheep and goats. Also very good quality wines. The white Malvasia grape is very delicious and the young or year-old red wine is excellent.
