Experience the Timeless Charm of Finca Villacreces

Nestled within a stunning bicentenary pine forest and bordered by the Duero River, Finca Villacreces is a captivating winery that beautifully combines tradition and nature. Spanning 110 hectares in the renowned “Golden Mile” of Ribera del Duero, this estate has a rich history dating back to the 13th century when Cistercian monks established a monastery for spiritual reflection and winemaking. At Finca Villacreces, wine enthusiasts can learn about the art of winemaking while enjoying unique experiences that celebrate the region's rich viticultural heritage.

Exceptional Wines from a Unique Microclimate

Situated at an altitude of 700 meters, Finca Villacreces benefits from a distinctive microclimate characterized by significant temperature variations, long winters, and dry summers with minimal rainfall. The surrounding forest acts as a natural shield, protecting the vineyards from harsh weather conditions and allowing for the production of exceptional wines.

Finca Villacreces produces a range of remarkable wines, including PRUNO, a blend of 95% Tempranillo and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, which has been recognized by Robert Parker as one of the best value wines in the world. Other notable offerings include FINCA VILLACRECES, composed of 86% Tempranillo, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 4% Merlot, and NEBRO, a pure 100% Tempranillo sourced from a single vineyard.

Lovely estate with super helpful and knowledgeable people. We visited the Wine Bar which is open without reservations for tasting and learned a lot about Duero wines. Highly recommend!

Absolutely spectacular!! Today we enjoyed the visit with Celia who explained in detail the vineyard, the peculiarities of the winery and the exceptional tasting. I love the world of wine but after this visit I like it even more. Whenever I taste a wine I will remember Celia's advice to know where to start and to distinguish the type of oak in which it was stored. It was like being in an amusement park.

Thank you for the impressive visit to Finca Villacreces, their winery and then tasting two wines in their premises. It is very worth it. You have to book in advance but although it is 2 hours from Madrid, I would return without hesitation. The location of this winery is idyllic. Everything is very well cared for, from the lawn to the visit, the facilities and the smallest details. We started the visit by visiting their vineyards, where they explained to us the different techniques they use to guarantee the best vines and the best grapes. By the way, all organic and manual. Before entering the winery, we went to another area where we were explained all the vineyards of the estate with their variety of grapes and soils. The winery itself is also spectacular. And they explained to us in detail the different stages of winemaking, from the harvest to storage in steel tanks for fermentation and subsequent storage in American and French oak barrels. And then bottling. Of particular note is the part where we were explained the history of the property in the area of its chapel. As a lover of history and art, I loved it because it was totally unexpected. But what surprised me most was the tasting. Very careful. And accompanied by an aperitif. We tasted two of their famous wines, Pruno and Finca Villacreces. They are very worth it. We even bought some to take home. Seriously, the visit seemed short in the end. Thank you for everything, I look forward to returning to one of your events.

On our getaway to Ribera del Duero this was one of the wineries we chose for a guided tour and the truth is we were not disappointed, the visit was well directed and explained by our guide, I think it was Silvia, especially with regard to the agricultural part, an illustrated and enjoyable visit in modern facilities, as for the tasting she offered of their most significant wines Finca Villacreces and Pruno, it was like any other, although a little stingy in terms of quantity, one bottle of wine for 9 visitors.

It is a wonderful property dedicated to the world of wine. Beautiful enclave in the Golden Mile of Ribera del Duero. Takes care of all the details. Visiting wine tourism is essential and in our case we did the tour by electric bike through the vineyard area which is spectacular. Pruno is one of my favorite wines 🍷
