Bodega Zolo Produces Gorgeous Organic Wines

The Bodega Zolo is located in Agrelo and is one of the frontrunners in organic and sustainable wine production in Argentina. The winery can produce two million litres of wines annually in steel tanks and two rooms that have around 1300 barrels.

A Winery with Modern Technology

It is equipped with the best modern technology and machinery, vertical and hydropneumatic presses, bottling line, and storage space. It is managed by Fabian Valenzuala, who, since 2012, has partnered with Jean Claude Berrouet, a famous winemaker with more than 40 years of experience in winemaking in France. Together they work hand in hand to create wines that express the qualities of their land and winemaking skills. The winery is certified by Global Gap for its sustainable and organic winemaking techniques.

Sustainable Methods for Their Grapes

The Zolo uses grapes from the vineyards in Lujan de Cuyo and Maipu. These vineyards are present in the Mendoza River Valley, at a height between 800 to 1000 meters above sea level. Harvesting is done manually using only eco-friendly, sustainable methods. The main grape varietals that grow here are Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Torrontes, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Petit Verdot, and Viognier. Zolo’s red, white, rose, and sparkling wines are developed with organic methods and spend eight months in oak barrels. The wines have a marked fruitiness and ripe tannins that make them an intense and vibrant wine. Bodega Zolo got the Amorin Sustainability Award in 2017 from DB GREEN Awards and the Gold Medal at The Brit Awards in 2017 for practicing sustainable and organic farming techniques.
