A Harmonious Blend of Tradition and Innovation in Ribera del Duero
Bodegas Arrocal: A Family-Owned Winery in Ribera del Duero
Bodegas Arrocal is a family-run winery nestled in Gumiel de Mercado, a charming village in the D.O. Ribera del Duero. Owned by Rosa Arroyo and Moisés Calvo, both locals with deep roots in the region, the winery was established in 1999. Together with their sons, they have cultivated a sustainable business that beautifully marries traditional winemaking practices with modern technology.
At Bodegas Arrocal, sustainable viticulture is a priority, ensuring respect for the environment while producing high-quality grapes.
50 Hectares of Vines, Primarily Tempranillo
The winery exclusively uses grapes from its own vineyards, which span approximately 50 hectares. Of these, 45 hectares are dedicated to Tempranillo, the flagship grape of Ribera del Duero. Located at an altitude of 830 meters, these vineyards benefit from ideal growing conditions. In addition to Tempranillo, Bodegas Arrocal also cultivates Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Albillo. Their commitment to sustainable practices results in exceptional wines, including both red and rosé varieties, most of which are certified DO Ribera del Duero.
