Wine tastes better when the land is well cultivated and cared for, and at Bodegas Antonio Cañaveras, the wines and the land have been one and the same for a long time. The family tradition that began in 1848 has put down strong roots in the present day. For five generations, this family has managed the winemaking process with grace and beauty so that everyone can enjoy it.

Bodegas Antonio Cañaveras offers you a young and fresh perspective whilst remaining firmly rooted in its five-generation winemaking heritage.

The flavour of wine passed down through the generations.

Since 1889, the family has been dedicated to winemaking; family techniques and secrets have been passed down with grace, and the flavour of Bodegas Cañaveras’ wines has also been inherited, making their excellence beyond words.

Bodegas Antonio Cañaveras nurtures its vineyards and ecosystem hand in hand.

The vineyards of Bodegas Antonio Cañaveras are at the heart of its history. In the Castilla-La Mancha region, the winery cultivates Verdejo, Airén, Chardonnay, Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Merlot. The vines receive around 3,000 hours of sunshine a year and regular rainfall, which explains their beautiful body and rich flavour. The climate ensures the soil is fertile and well-suited to the grapes. The vineyards are surrounded by rivers and hills and home to Iberian wildlife. All crops are free from chemical residues or anything else that might harm them. The vines are 100% organic.

In a family business that has been passed down through the generations, two women from the younger generation are taking the lead in taking this family tradition into new territory. Respecting their winemaking expertise and heritage, whilst also seeking to keep ideas fresh, they bring you artisan wines, wine aged in clay jars and organic wine. They are a new generation of winemakers blazing a trail.

Really worth visiting. It’s not just another winery. This is a gem. Small, family run with lovely wine and lovely people. It also is a rare opportunity to see some of the original pottery jars still in use. Superb.

We bought some bottles that had been recommended to us and bought many more. They have a great selection of wines; white, rosé, red, sparkling and vermouth!!! We will try them all. We were visited by Ana Mª Cañaveras, the fifth generation of the winery. A very nice person and a good professional. A pleasure!!!

We went to buy a few bottles and were delighted. They treated us with kindness and good work, they showed us the room with the glasses which are beautiful and we returned home with three different wines that we are looking forward to tasting.

A pleasant surprise when visiting this traditional winery. The 5th generation and very friendly and kind people. Very nice to meet the family and their great wines. There is a lot of love in it, in the product, in the labeling, etc. etc. And it shows... A pleasure, Ana María&Cía.
