Recognized Quality of Wines
Pago De La Jaraba has a long-standing reputation for producing high-quality wines. Recently, the European Union introduced a prestigious classification in Spain known as Vino de Pago, or Single Estate Wine. This designation comes with strict winemaking regulations to ensure exceptional quality and preserve the unique terroir. Pago De La Jaraba was among the first wineries to achieve this esteemed status, highlighting its commitment to excellence.
Diverse Vineyards and Unique Soils
The estate spans 80 hectares of vineyards, situated at an average altitude of 750 meters above sea level. The primary grape variety grown here is Tempranillo, making up nearly 60% of the vineyard. Other varieties include Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Graciano, and Sauvignon Blanc. The grapes thrive in a variety of soils, including ancient river stones, sandy, and clay soils. Surrounded by 92 hectares of holm oak and pine forest, the vineyard benefits from a unique microclimate that enhances the wines' organoleptic characteristics, resulting in full-bodied wines with elegant mineral notes.
