A real family run winery
The Bodegas Navarro Lopez is located in the beautiful area of Valdepenas in Spain. The winery and estate were founded in 1904 by Don Juan Sanchez Megia as a small family run winery and the original winery buildings still stand today. After passing through many generations, the farm was handed to Navarro Doroteo Donado in 1998 and he changed the focus of the winery to quality aged wines from single grape verities.
Bodegas Navarro Lopez winery: an eventful past
In 2001 the winery was moved from the town of Valdepenas to a unique location that was more in keeping with the winery’s vision of respecting the local environment. In 2002 the Bodegas Navarro Lopez began producing wine designated as from the ‘Tierra de Castilla’ and in 2006 additional wines were included from the DOC Rioja, the Ribera del Duero and Reuda. This was part of the winery’s drive to become a global wine provider.
The unique location of the winery means that the best wines can be produced from its own grapes that are milled and processed immediately after harvesting
