Experience the Essence of the Atlantic in Every Sip

Located in the stunning Salnés Valley of northwest Pontevedra, close to the scenic tributaries of Cambados Village, Bodegas Martín Códax is celebrated for its outstanding Albariño grapes. This cooperative winery has made significant advancements in quality, allowing it to produce premium wines under the esteemed DO Rías Baixas designation. Bodegas Martín Códax offers a selection of Albariño wines through three distinguished brands: Códax, Burgáns, and Organistrum.

A Tribute to Galician Heritage

Established in 1986 by a collective of 270 dedicated winegrowers, Martín Códax Winery embodies a vision of Galician wine culture, guided by ninth-generation winemaker Luciano Amoedo. The winery is named after a famous troubadour whose poetry celebrated the beauty of Galicia, often accompanied by original melodies. Since its inception, Martín Códax has shared its wines and cultural heritage with over 40 countries, skillfully blending modern winemaking techniques with traditional practices.

Commitment to Sustainability and Quality

Today, the winery sources grapes from around 1,400 small vineyard parcels, primarily located near the Atlantic coast. With a strong commitment to sustainability, the affiliated families cultivate high-quality grapes using organic methods, hand-harvesting them with care. This dedication results in award-winning white and sparkling wines that truly reflect the spirit of the region.

Very good experience at Bodega Martín Códax. First, a professional explained the grape variety and the winemaking process to us, accompanied by a glass of wine. Then another person from the team took over the tasting, which made the tasting very pleasant, almost like a monologue, and taught us a lot about the wines. In addition, they gave us a selection of cheeses and slices of bread, perfect to accompany each wine. Finally, in the store they recommended that we try more wines in the "bar" next to the tasting area and it was ideal to decide which wine to finally buy while enjoying the views. I give it a 10, a complete visit and totally recommended. We will definitely come back!

The visit to the winery with Dani and the tasting with Javi were without a doubt one of the best experiences we have ever had. We booked the Ondas do Mar experience, which, in addition to the guided tour with Dani, which was excellent, includes the tasting of three wines with pairing. It was spectacular, Javi turns the tasting into a game, making it interactive and even more fun. In addition, the setting is idyllic. We were lucky enough to see the sunset during the tasting… it is certainly a highly recommended experience.

We really enjoyed the visit we made to the winery last Thursday. Especially the tasting. Without a doubt, highly recommended if you like to try such delicious delicacies and great wines. The treatment and all the management was impeccable. Thank you for everything and if you don't know it and you are in the area, visit it

We did a guided tour and a tasting with cheese pairing and we loved it. They were also very kind and attentive as they adapted the tasting pairing with gluten-free bread for the celiac who was accompanying me. The visit is well worth it.

Not our first visit to Martín Códax, but certainly our most memorable! We had such a fun and rewarding experience here with our group of friends from the USA. Our tour guide, Dani, was able to offer a tour of the facility in English, which was really greatly appreciated, and he was extremely kind and knowledgable. Our tour concluded with a guided tasting with Carmen, who was friendly, helpful, and an absolute expert in her field. Each wine was paired with a small tapa. Carmen explained how to use all of our senses to assess and describe the flavor profiles in the wines that we tasted and understand the tapas pairings. Everyone in our group agreed that we learned more about tasting and describing wines than any other experience we've ever had collectively! Thank you so much for such a wonderful afternoon - we will be back!
