Named After a Renowned Galician Poet, Martín Códax
Founded in 1986 by a group of 270 winegrowers, Martín Códax Winery is a dream project, depicting the symbol of Galician wines headed by the ninth generation winemaker, Luciano Amoedo. It is named after a well-reputed troubadour who wrote poems about the beauty of Galicia, sung with original music. The company has promoted its wines and culture to over 40 countries since its founding. They use new winemaking techniques while still preserving the traditional methods.
Committed to Developing and Managing an Experimental Vineyard in Pé Redondo
Today, the grapes used for making the highest quality wines come from around 1400 small vineyard parcels. Most of the vineyards are nestled close to the sea. With respect to nature, the associated families cultivate rich-quality grapes organically, harvest manually, and transport the berries to Bodegas Martín Códax with the utmost care. Using the fruit, the winery team crafts award-winning white and sparkling wines.
