Alma Das Donas: The Art of Winemaking

Located in the picturesque region of Galicia, Alma Das Donas embodies the essence of a different Spain. Here, the landscape is defined by Atlantic breezes, lush forests, and a rich winemaking tradition. Alma Das Donas is harmoniously situated within the hills of Ribeira Sacra, where they cultivate grapes across 3 hectares of their own vineyards. The winery's philosophy emphasizes that great wine requires dedication and hard work, ensuring that every bottle reflects the passion of its creators.

Vineyards Along the Sil River

The vineyards thrive in granite and saline soils along the banks of the Sil River, benefiting from a steep southwest-facing slope that provides an ideal microclimate for grape growing. With an average vine age of 50 years, the winery practices Heroic Viticulture, which minimizes mechanical intervention and prioritizes hand-harvesting. This sustainable approach protects the delicate hills and vines while allowing the unique characteristics of the region's grape varieties, such as Mencía and Godello, to shine.

Award-Winning Wines

Alma Das Donas has garnered recognition for its exceptional wines, receiving numerous accolades from both Spanish and international wine competitions. Notable achievements include Gold and Silver medals at Mondial des Vins Extrêmes and ratings exceeding 90 points from la Guía Peñín for various wine selections. These awards highlight the winery's commitment to quality and craftsmanship.

Amazing place, very helpful owner: in the middle of the grape harvest period he opened his doors to us to buy some bottles of good wine, all that's missing is to try it! :) Arriving in Galicia in the middle of nature on the banks of the Sil river and finding a shop with an Italian owner making local wine is priceless. We will definitely return to do the tasting on the panoramic balcony because it is truly amazing.

A highly recommended experience! Both Lara and Roberto were super friendly, they explained to us the whole process from the grape harvest to the bottling of the wine. We enjoyed experience number 2 and it was very worthwhile. There are 6 wines and some tapas, as if it were a tasting menu with delicious Galician products. A 10!

We really enjoyed it!!! Come on, we don't go to wineries, my goodness!!🤦 But this one is spectacular in its "version", the tasting with 6 wines!!! The 45€ per person may be scary at first, but not at all!! It's worth every penny. Visiting the vineyard and the winery is something very simple because the winery is small. But the food is worth it and the wines are great!!! That Godello in the barrel... My mother 🤤 100% recommended

We loved it! We did a tasting of three wines accompanied by a snack of sausages and cheeses. In our case we visited the winery alone, since the group that accompanied us was delayed and we were able to enjoy the winery alone with Roberto's company. The explanation was very good, but the wines and food were even better. We visited at sunset and it was beautiful. We bought several white wines that we tried at the tasting that we liked and they gave us a bottle of red as a gift. An experience to repeat.

We booked the eighth option at this winery and it was a wonderful experience. The place is spectacular with an incredible terrace and beautiful views. Roberto explained everything to us wonderfully and the wines were great, the sausage and cheese were also very good. An experience out of 10 that I highly recommend. We really enjoyed this tasting with the wonderful wines.

We booked the "Alma 2" experience and it couldn't have been a better option. The place is spectacular and the small terrace where the tasting takes place has a lot of charm and a beautiful view. Very rich food. Thanks to Roberto for his explanation and his closeness.
