The Merayo family has deep roots in the wine industry, owning one of the most significant wineries in Castilla y León for many years. Bodegas y Viñedos Merayo, established in 2010, is the culmination of Pedro Merayo's 20-year passion for winemaking. His extensive experience and love for the Bierzo region fueled this successful venture. After stepping back from winemaking in the late 1980s to focus on the family vineyards, Pedro returned to the craft in the late 1990s, inspired by modernization and the potential for international markets. The family recommitted to winemaking at their estate, Finca Miralmonte, emphasizing the production of high-quality native grape varieties.
