Northern Macedonia's Premier Private Winery Since 1998
About Bovin Winery
Bovin Winery, a name derived from the founders' last name—Bogevski—has been synonymous with exceptional wines in Northern Macedonia for over two decades. Established in 1998 by brothers Kiril and Gjorgji Bogevski, it holds the distinction of being the first privately-owned winery in the country. Located in Negotino, within the renowned Tikves wine region, Bovin benefits from a climate and soil that have supported viticulture since ancient times.
The Brothers' Legacy
Growing up in the Royal Winery Queen Maria, built in 1928, the Bogevski brothers developed a deep passion for winemaking. Their childhood memories are filled with the aromas of wine and the sights of large oak barrels, which sparked their lifelong interest in viticulture. They understood that quality wine begins with excellent grapes, fertile soil, and advanced winemaking techniques—all of which they have cultivated at Bovin Winery.
The Birth of Bovin Winery
After traveling the world and sampling wines from renowned producers, the brothers recognized the potential of their homeland. In 1998, they established Bovin Winery with a capacity of 100,000 liters dedicated solely to bottled wines. Their initial offerings were priced significantly higher than the market average, reflecting their commitment to quality. Bovin Winery is respected globally for its uncompromising standards in wine production. Notably, their wine, Alexandar, was served at the wedding of Prince Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands.
