Tikveš Winery, an Ideal Climate in Northern Macedonia
Surrounded by scenic countryside, Tikveš Winery is located in northern Macedonia. Surrounded by the mountains, the vineyards are well protected from strong winds. Today, the vineyards extend over 50 hectares, where the grapes enjoy about five different soil types and an appropriate atmosphere. In 2018, the winery joined hands with the Château de Gourdon Estate in Rhone Valley, France.
The Expansion of Tikveš Winery
Tikveš Winery first began wine production in 1885. Today, the estate boasts a centuries-old viticulture tradition, enhanced by the perfect blend of the ecosystem, fertile soils, and family passion. Over the years, the owners have expanded the ancestral business with great dedication and bought extensive land in southeastern Europe for grape growing. Many new and modern technologies have been introduced to maintain the superior quality of their wines.
Tikveš Winery produces award-winning reds and whites, combined with top-notch rosé and sparkling wines.
In the Vineyards of Tikveš Winery
Most of the family-owned vineyards are old, thereby making wines that cannot be produced anywhere else in the world. The winery takes care of various grape varieties, namely Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Carignan, Cinsault, Chardonnay, Clairette, Belan, Grasevina, Grenache Blanc, and Grenache. Some hectares are also planted with Kratosija, Marsanne, Merlot, Muscat Hamburg, Muscat Ottonel, and Pinot Noir. The wines produced express the essence of purity and soil characteristics. After fermentation in steel tanks, the wines are stored in French oak vats, giving them an exceptional flavor.
