The Family Legacy of Zaharchev

Located in the heart of Kavadarci, Zaharchev Winery is a charming family-owned boutique winery. We take pride in crafting our wines from local grape varieties, producing limited series that reflect the unique terroir of the Tikveš region, known as the birthplace of viticulture in Northern Macedonia.

The Tikveš Wine District

The Tikveš region is rich in winemaking history, where the aromas of freshly harvested Kratoshija, Vranec, Prokupec, Plovdina, Stanushina, and Temjanika fill the air. Each glass of our wine tells a story, capturing the essence of the land and the passion of our family. The warmth of the sun during harvest and the gentle breeze create a symphony that resonates in every sip, making our wines memorable.

Rare Groyze Grape Varieties

At Zaharchev Winery, we focus on producing wines from Groyze grape varieties, which are native to the Balkans and are nearing extinction. With an annual production of around 7,000 bottles, each bottle represents a commitment to preserving these unique grapes. Join us in celebrating the rich heritage of our region through our wines.

Small family winery from Tikvesh region. Every vine is made from unique Macedonian and Balkan grapes varieties. Stanushuna, Temjanika, Plovdina, Vranec and Prokupec. Good choice for every palate. The home made grape syrup - Madjun, typical for the region, is full of natural resveratrol and antioxidants.

Zaharchev Winery is a true example of delivering a great quality wine For me it is the mix of tradition, classic and modern that makes the uniqueness. Coming from the most popular grape and wine region in Macedonia, they really made it to be special, different and for me better from what is already in the market As a person that loves a nice wine i can say that it is a real symphony of flavors and me and my family enjoy every sip of it. Once you try it you would for sure want more

I do drink wine. I cook and wine is a must almost each day.. So, when I drink, I really choose. Zaharchev winery products are on my table in each family organization and I do recommend to the ones that want to enjoy the full flavor of each, Temjanika at dinner or Stanushina for the lovers of dry rose who adore the refined taste for wine. Prokupec is different self talking story and it’s a must specially when meat is served. Our traditional kitchen is full of specialties that contain smoked meat. Sausages and Vranec are combination for gourmands, including my self.. I will not comment or add my review now for Zta Kavdrecka, I want each customer to add their one, because mine will contain more reading. Please, let’s talk more specifics here or in some wine gathering, where the owner let us know the details of the preparation for something with acient flavor as Zta Kavdrecka

I have tasted all of Zaharchev's wines and I can say that Zaharcher Family Winery is THE winery for those savoring good wines, appreciating local varieties and supporting small local producers. They offer a whole range of local varieties specific to Macedonia and the Balkans - Plovdina (rose) being my favorite one, on a par with Stanushina (white ane rose). From the red wines I highly recommend Vranec (very powerful wine with full body) and Prokupec which, once neglected in this regions, is brought back to our tables, offering excellent quality and very distinct taste. Cheers!
