We had a wonderful time tasting wines and learning much about the area and Briceland wines from Andrew and his (witty!) wife Rosie. We were traveling with friends through No. California Coastal Redwoods and wanted a local small winery experience. This was it! The charcuterie board was amazing and the homegrown tomatoes to-go an unexpected bonus!! We opened our first bottle last night and it was delightful.

This is a very hidden gem. Owner/winemaker is a wealth of knowledge. Nice to sit back and absorb great information. The wines are extremely well crafted in a rustic setting up in the Humboldt redwoods. Do take time to stop off and taste the wine.

Briceland Vineyards is a MUST that will appeal to a wide range of visitors. For the wine enthusiasts this needs to be a destination. For RV travelers who enjoy wine at any level, this should be on you list as an overnight spot (they are a Harvest Host). The bucolic tasting patio is an idyllic place to nerd out about wines, and viniculture with the winemakers and the conversation can go as deep down the rabbit hole as you want. It is equally beautiful for simple conversation while enjoying wines that are made in the style of old California (more like European style) that allow the grape varietals and local vineyards to take center stage. We spent the night in our sprinter van under spreading oaks, and woke to a chorus of birds - an amazingly peaceful night. This will be a permanent stop on our travels through the redwoods!

After waking up at 2 A.M. to travel half way across the country for our next adventure, my partner and I determined that we were in dire need of a glass or two of wine to really settle into vacation mode. Fortunately, Briceland Vineyards was only a hop away from our stay. Unbeknownst to us, they are appointment only but Rosie was graciously accommodating to us out of state strays and invited us to join a tasting that was in progress. The wine maker, Andrew, was knowledgeable in his craft and friendly in a refreshingly grounded way. The wine was luscious and unique, exactly what you would hope for from a small batch winery. The 2017 Pinot Noir and the Petit Verdot were our top two picks. Absolute must tries!
