An Organic Winery Since 2001
Surrounded by the unspeakable panorama of Asti province, the Ca ‘d Tantin Winery resides in Calosso with estate-owned vineyards located in Langhe-Roero and Monferrato, UNESCO World Heritage Site. The vineyard region covers a total area of four hectares, where the family cultivates grapes organically. Focused on quality and not quantity, the estate produces a limited number of wines under d’Asti DOCG and Monferrato DOC labels.
Ca ‘d Tantin Organic Wines – 150 Years of Excellence
In the second half of the 19th-century, the great-grandfather Constantino started cultivating grapes, and that’s how a beautiful winemaking tradition began. Today, the fourth generation members handle the ancestral business with the same passion and commitment as their forefathers. Andrea and Marco Venturino, the brothers and owners of Ca ‘d Tantin Organic Wines, work in the vineyards and the cellar together. The old, conventional equipment is still preserved in the cellars, including a wooden press, conical truck and wooden tank for fermentation, wooden barrels and barriques for aging and refining. A photovoltaic system is also installed in the farm, saving non-renewable resources.
Historic Vineyards Still Producing the Best Bio Wines
Some of the vineyards are ancient, cultivated by the grandfather around 70 years ago. Here, Marco and Andrea grow a wide array of grapes, such as Barbera, Nebbiolo, Gamba di Pernice, and Cabernet Sauvignon. Some plots are replanted with unique Pinot Noir, Dolcetto, Brachetto, Arneis, and Moscato. All the processes during harvesting are done manually. The best bunches are moved to the cellar in red boxes. Since 2015, all the wine bottles, be it red, white, rose, or dessert, are numbered by hand to emphasize the craftsmanship.
