A Legacy of Winemaking in Campania, Italy
Cantina del Barone Winery: A Tradition of Excellence
Located in the enchanting region of Campania, Italy, Cantina del Barone winery is a testament to centuries of winemaking heritage. Nestled in Cesinali, a quaint agricultural hub in the province of Avellino, the Sarno family has dedicated generations to nurturing the land and crafting exceptional Italian wines.
In the mid-1990s, Antonio Sarno acquired the winery from a Neapolitan baron, continuing the family’s commitment to producing wines that reflect the unique terroir and climate of the region.
Experience Exceptional Wine Tastings
The volcanic soil at Cantina del Barone is rich in minerals, providing an ideal environment for grape cultivation. With southern exposure, the vineyards benefit from abundant sunlight, complemented by the influences of Monte Terminio and Monte Partenio. All grapes are hand-harvested and gently pressed in the cellar, allowing the stems to contribute antioxidants and tannins to the fermenting must. Fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks without added yeasts, lasting approximately two weeks.
Commitment to Sustainability
Cantina del Barone produces notable wines such as Paone and Parrticella 928. The winery is a founding member of ViTi (Winegrowers in d’Irpinia), a collective of producers dedicated to sustainable and chemical-free winemaking practices. This commitment ensures that each bottle reflects the purity of the land and the passion of its caretakers.
