This site is considered the heart of the Grimolizzi family's vineyard, which extends gracefully towards the hills. The wine "Alberi in Piano" reflects the origins of the estate, named after the district where founder Francesco Grimolizzi first purchased the land. Over the years, this bold decision has led to numerous accolades, establishing Alberi in Piano as one of the finest wines globally.

Unique Grapes Grown at the Foot of Monte Vulture

After acquiring a thirty-year-old vineyard of Aglianico del Vulture grapes, the Grimolizzi family chose to transform their harvest rather than sell it. This decision stemmed from their passion for quality and a commitment to producing authentic wines. The name "Alberi in Piano" was a natural choice, honoring the district where their journey began.

Aglianico del Vulture is a DOC wine made from pure Aglianico grapes, cultivated at the base of the ancient Monte Vulture volcano. Founded in the late 19th century by Francesco Grimolizzi, Cantina Il Passo began its winemaking journey in 2012 within a unique cellar carved from volcanic rock. This innovative approach reflects their dedication to transforming their vineyard's produce into exceptional wines.
