A Family Legacy in Piedmont

Since 1600, the Bava family has nurtured vineyards in Cocconato, a picturesque town in the Monferrato Asti hills. The winery's roots trace back to 1911, and today, it is proudly managed by the sixth generation. Spanning 50 hectares across Monferrato and Langhe, Cantine Bava is renowned for its exceptional Barbera Bava wine, celebrated for its quality and craftsmanship.

The Unique Vineyards of Cantine Bava

Cantine Bava's vineyards are located in three distinct areas: Cocconato, Agliano, and Castiglione Falletto. Each vineyard showcases the diverse landscapes and rich viticultural heritage of the region. Committed to sustainable practices, the winery employs environmentally friendly methods, utilizing grass and pruning remnants as natural fertilizers. Wooden poles sourced from renewable forests help prevent soil erosion, reflecting the family's dedication to preserving the land.

A Diverse Selection of Wines

The winery offers an impressive array of wines, including red, white, rosé, sparkling, and dessert varieties. Crafted from native grape varieties such as Nebbiolo, Barbera, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Nero, Moscato, Malvasia, Ruché, and Albarossa, each wine captures the essence of the region. A dedicated section of the cellars features custom-built steel fermentation barrels, ensuring the aromatic wines maintain their unique character. Cantine Bava's wines are perfect for any celebration, providing a taste of Piedmont's rich winemaking tradition.

BAVA offers excellent products, taylored to the contemporary life style. I had the chance to taste most of their wines especially the Alta Langas and the Barberas, which I found squisite and sophisticated with a velvet touch and easy drinkable. The welcome is exquisite, and Mrs. Alessandra is very knowledgeable and inclined to please the most demanding customers. I recommend this winery, rich of history and excellent products. Samuele.

We had the pleasure of visiting this interesting winery in Cocconato, and it was an unforgettable experience. Nestled in Monferrato, this winery offers not just excellent wines, but a true immersion into the beauty, culture, and history of the region. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm hospitality. The staff is knowledgeable and passionate, eager to share stories about the winemaking process and the history of their vineyard. The tasting experience was exceptional and very generous, featuring a variety of wines that beautifully reflect the terroir of the area. Each glass offered something unique, from the refreshing whites to the rich, full-bodied reds. It’s clear that great care and craftsmanship go into every bottle. The setting itself is stunning, with a perfect stylish spot to enjoy not only a glass of wine but also vermouth and more... If you're looking for a peaceful day in the countryside, this winery is a must-visit. I can't wait to come back.
