Cantine dell’Angelo- Boutique Italian Winery
Cantine dell’Angelo is an Italian winery and estate located in the Greco di Tufo DOCG region of Campania in Italy. The winery represents true Italian family boutique wine making and belongs to the Muto Family. The name comes from that of Angelo Muto who is the third generation wine maker of the family and is directly involved in each step of the wine making process, starting from the vineyard.
Angelo is a strong believer in low impact agriculture and pays very special attention to the health of the soil which he believes needs to be very rich in sulphur to produce the perfect vines for the perfect wine.
Division of Their Vineyards
The vineyards of Cantine dell’Angelo winery are divided into two bodies. The first body of vineyards consists of five hectares in the Campanaro district that is immediately behind the ancient mines. The second body consist of only one hectare in Torre Favale close to the aeration tower of the now derelict tunnel towers. Once Angelo gained access to the family inheritance he started to bottle his Tufa Greek in 2006 and since then has joined forces with the well known wine maker Luigi Sarno to make even bigger, better and bolder wines.
In their wine making processes, no chemical synthesis is used in the vineyard or the cellar as well as no selected yeasts used in the fermentation process. No invasive practises are used in the vineyards make sure that the vines are always an expression of the vintage and of the territory on which they have grown.
