A Legacy of Fine Italian Winemaking by the Muto Family
Cantine dell’Angelo - Boutique Italian Winery
Cantine dell’Angelo is a distinguished winery located in the Greco di Tufo DOCG region of Campania, Italy. This family-owned estate is a testament to traditional Italian winemaking, proudly managed by the Muto family. Named after Angelo Muto, the third-generation winemaker, the winery emphasizes a hands-on approach, with Angelo personally overseeing every aspect of the winemaking process, from vineyard management to bottling.
Angelo champions sustainable agriculture, focusing on soil health. He believes that rich sulfur content in the soil is essential for cultivating exceptional vines that yield outstanding wines.
Vineyard Overview
The vineyards of Cantine dell’Angelo are divided into two distinct sections. The first spans five hectares in the Campanaro district, situated near ancient mining sites. The second, a smaller one-hectare plot, is located in Torre Favale, adjacent to the remnants of old tunnel towers. Since taking over the family estate in 2006, Angelo has collaborated with renowned winemaker Luigi Sarno to craft wines that are bold and expressive of their terroir.
Winemaking Philosophy
At Cantine dell’Angelo, the winemaking process is rooted in natural practices. The winery avoids chemical synthesis in both the vineyard and cellar, opting for traditional methods. No selected yeasts are used during fermentation, ensuring that each wine reflects the unique characteristics of its vintage and the land it comes from.
