Our vineyard is home to a diverse selection of grapes, including Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Barbera, Zinfandel, Lagrein, Nebbiolo, Shiraz, Gewürztraminer, Sauvignon Blanc, and Riesling. Each variety is carefully cultivated to reflect the unique terroir of our land.
Prime Location and Sustainable Practices
Located on the northern slopes of Mount Canobolas at an elevation of 860 meters, Cargo Road Winery spans 16 hectares of established vines. Winemaker James Sweetapple has dedicated years to enhancing the vineyard through sustainable practices. This includes effective weed control, meticulous pruning, and canopy management. Our commitment to holistic management has allowed us to increase the number of grape varieties and expand our vineyard to over 22,000 vines, ensuring a rich and varied wine experience for our visitors.
