Casaloste Winery Is A Small Winery With Great Potential
Progress to Casaloste Winery has always been in terms of taste and hospitality and not how big they can grow. This is why they aim to be a small winery to make great and quality wines.
The Winery Rises in a Land of Tradition with Innovation
Being small is acting smart on the winery’s part; it gives them more control over their vines and they are more able to take care of the vines and the harvested grapes properly. Special equipment and high technology and controlled temperatures are used in the cellars when it comes to the pressing and ageing process in French Oak barrels. Quality control tests are done frequently to ensure quality.
Organic Farming And Sustainability are Priority at its Core
In the region of Chianti Classico, Casaloste Winery stretches across 18 hectares of land among which 10.5 hectares are devoted to vines and the rest are cultivated with olive oils for their extra virgin olive oil. Giovanni understood the importance of organic methods and organic farming cultivation during his course of education at the University of Agriculture. His Master’s degree in Oenology proved to be a great help to bring organic farming in vineyards. All wines produced at Casaloste Winery are organic. Sangiovese and Merlot are let to be grown on their own terms with minimal intervention. It has been certified as an organic farm in 1994. The winery holds great respect for work and for nature.
