Cascina Vèngore is a historic estate nestled in the picturesque Terre Alfieri region of Piedmont, renowned for its organic wines. This ancient Roman estate is graced by the Cucheirolo spring, providing a vital water source. The surrounding natural amphitheater of vineyards showcases centuries of agricultural tradition. Spanning 16 hectares of vineyards and 10 hectares of woodlands, the estate thrives on organic farming and biodynamic practices, creating a sanctuary for local flora and fauna.

Transition to Organic Farming in 2016

Three brothers—Luca, Alessio, and Daniele—dedicate themselves to sustainable practices that honor the environment. The estate's terroir offers ideal conditions for grape cultivation. In 2012, they planted 60,000 new vines and transitioned to organic farming in 2016. By minimizing the use of herbicides and chemical fertilizers, they produce natural, fruity wines while preserving the health of their vines and the surrounding ecosystem.

Cultivation of Ancient Grains Alongside Wines

In addition to winemaking, Cascina Vèngore promotes plant biodiversity by cultivating ancient grains, particularly piccolo farro (einkorn). This grain is known for its low gluten content and digestibility, making it well-suited for organic farming. The winery produces red and white wines using Nebbiolo, Barbera, and Arneis grapes, crafting Terre Alfieri and Barbera d’Asti wines that reflect the rich terroir and exceptional winemaking expertise.
