In the region of Champagne in France, the winery grows Chardonnay in its 4.60 hectares of land. Champagne Phillipe Glavier Winery only grows Chardonnay and its products are 100 % Chardonnay. The grapes are from 4 prestigious villages: Cramant, Avize, Oger and Le Mesnil sur Oger.
The Craft of Winemaking
The mastering of winemaking has been done from a long time ago at Champagne Philippe Glavier Winery. Everything is done in the estates by the family: the planting, the vine management, the harvest, the pressing and the winemaking. In order to stand out the typical flavors of each of the four villages, winemaking is done locally by the terroir and malolactic fermentation is done on all vintages. The wines are kept in thermoregulated stainless steel vats and drums. Their cellars consist of modern equipment and of modern touches.

We arrived at the unassuming production facility and were greeted by owner Veronique, who gave us a very thorough tour of the facility, some of the plots of grapes, and provided an excellent lesson on the history and terroir of the region. This family run business produces some of the best champagne we have tasted. It was a wonderful experience to meet the grower-producers, Veronique and her husband and to see the dedication to high quality that is evident in their wine. I highly recommend this champagne, business, and region!
