Colle Manora: A Testament to Italian Tradition

Founded by Eleonora Limonci in 1981, Colle Manora has been under the stewardship of the Schön family for over a decade. The winery has seen significant enhancements, including vineyard replanting and the adoption of modern winemaking techniques. The renovated winery maintains a strong connection to Italy's rich traditions. Today, Mila Schön, a renowned fashion designer, and her son, a car racer and luxury car consultant, oversee the winery's operations. Spanning 75 hectares, with 20 hectares dedicated to vineyards, Colle Manora cultivates both indigenous and international grape varieties. Notable selections include Barbera, Viognier, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Nebbiolo, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and the unique Albarossa, which adds depth to the wines.

Gentle Processing of Grapes is a Top Priority

Colle Manora is equipped with state-of-the-art machinery and an automated monitoring system that ensures precise vinification in stainless steel tanks. To preserve the wines' organoleptic qualities, the winery ages and refines its selections in wooden oak barrels and barriques, all while maintaining a controlled temperature. This careful approach results in wines that reflect the essence of the Piedmont region.

Have tastings of their wines and visit their cellar. The last 500 meters of the road to get there are not on Google Maps which instead leads you onto a dirt road. Do not take the dirt road but follow the signs and stay on the asphalt road

This is one of the very best wine tasting experiences I have EVER had! Our guide, Frederico, was fun, knowledgeable and passionate about Colle Manora. He took us on a tour of the facilities, including the oak barrel and steel barrel rooms. One of the highlights, leading to the tasting itself, was a tour of couture by Mila Schon, a true innovator of fashion design from the 60’s to the 80’s. And the wines… fantastic! We tried Sauv Blanc and Pinot Noir (I know, unusual for the region!)… both great. Their Barbera was smooth and delightful. The “tastings” were more like full pours also. The entire experience (with lots of questions and discussion) was about 2 hours. Put this place on your list if you are in the Fubine/Monferrato region. Just great!
