Crotin- Winery Following Organic Approach to produce Perfect Wines
Crotin Winery is a few kilometres from Asti in the municipality of Maretto, located in the beautiful region of Piemonte – Monferrato Area. Organic farming is the concept to produce the wines, where it is a symbol of respect for the winemakers. The viticulture is full of enthusiasm and compassion of love to provide the perfect wines.
Development of the Winery
Situated a few kilometres from Asti in the municipality of Maretto, the winery was established in the year 1897. The tradition has given them the fertile soil, and to maintain it, they use green manure and manure of the sheep. The vineyards are grown in espalier with Guyot pruning. The Wine estate has its farmhouse with various cuisines to offer. The area is eco friendly and surrounded by nature. The winery has established its remark since the 19th century, and to maintain the pride of the estate, it has four main members – Federico Russo is the Agronomist, Marcello Russo, a talented cook, Corrado Russo and Cristiano Garella, the winemakers.
Different Wine Labels
The wines have a labelling of DOC and DOCG. Classification of the wine varies from Barbera D’asti, Freisa D’asti, Piemonte Bussanello, Grignolino D’sti, and Spumante Metodo Classico.Grapes have different varieties cultivated here such as Barbera, Freisa, Grignolino, Bussanello, and Malvasia Moscata. The winery is focused on organic farming while avoiding weeding and chemical fertilization.
The company also deals with a multifunctional laboratory used to prepare cold cuts, jams, honey, bread, and pasta.
