Established in 1981 as an amateur cooperative, the winery has evolved significantly, expanding from just 3 barrels to producing nearly 30,000 cases of wine annually. A Legacy of Award-Winning Wines

The El Dorado region, where Crystal Basin Cellars is located, has a rich history of grape cultivation dating back to the gold miners of the 1850s and 1860s. Today, the winery continues this legacy by showcasing the unique flavors derived from the local soil, climate, and rainfall. All red wines are made from grapes sourced within 30 miles of the winery, featuring around 15 different varieties. This diversity allows for the creation of distinctive varietal wines.

Since 2001, Crystal Basin Cellars has earned numerous Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals, with each vintage achieving at least one gold medal at major California wine competitions.

Always the right choice! Mike is an awesome host, Barbara is just wonderful, KZ is great & the wine is kick a!! Their new label, El Dorado Wines is so fantastic! If your in the Camino area, it's a must! 4 tasting rooms all in the same place so just park & mosey around & check them all out!

I had such a great time wine tasting here for my birthday! We used a Groupon that came with a free bottle, which was such a fun perk. Mike, the owner, led us through the tasting, and he was so kind and charismatic. As someone who doesn’t know much about wine, I actually learned a ton and even found a few wines I really liked, which surprised me! We also got to tour the cellars, which made the whole experience even better. It was such a fun and unique way to celebrate my birthday with my boyfriend. Ginger was working her first day, but you would never have known it—she was so professional and friendly, just like Mike. Overall, it was such a pleasant experience. Thank you for making my birthday special! I’d definitely recommend this place to anyone.

This is by far the best winery I have ever been to and the wine was delicious! We got to go back into the barrel room for barrel tasting. Super educational, fun, different experience, personalized, relaxed, engaging and mind blowing. So FREAKING cool!!! The vibe here was super relaxed and fun! Delicious wines! Affordable tastings, bottles and cases. LOVED all the home decor and unique gifts! Super fun!!! Right off Hwy 50 AND delicious BBQ next door! Loved this place! We will be back for sure!

We found this gem from being harvest hosts members. Great location because there is an excellent bbq place right next door and a few other wineries and a brewery. This winery was very friendly and had great wines. I loved the reds and their sparkling. The other nearby wineries while nice did not have the enthusiasm or the service that Crystal basin cellars offered. We joined and are planning another trip! They have a lot of unique gift ideas you don’t see at other wineries.
