Journey of the Winery

Crystal Basin Cellar winery is run by a small circle of friends, which sharply focuses on producing small batches of wines of outstanding quality. Starting their journey from 1981, as an amateur cooperative winemaker, the Company has come a long way, outgrowing its space and establishing itself as a commercial winemaker. Steadily growing from 3 barrels to 25 under the house, they now have almost 30,000 cases of wine that have been eagerly devoured by many wine lovers.

Award Winning Wines

Originally, the El Dorado grapes were planted by the gold miners in the 1850s and 1860s. They have hence created a legacy that the Crystal Basin is following now, showcasing the amazing flavors created by their soil, climate, and precipitation.
All their red wines are crafted from grapes grown within 30 miles of their winery, in the El Dorado appellation. They have about 15 different red grape varieties. Access to such a wide variety of grapes allows them to create varietal wines from individual grapes.

They have been receiving numerous Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals since 2001
Each of their vintages has won at least one gold medal at a major wine competition in California.
