Domaine Bott-Geyl, 200 Years of Traditional Winemaking Transitions to Organic Production
The history of Domaine Bott-Geyl dates back to 1795 when Jean Christophe Bott’s ancestor, Jean, produced his first wine. In 1993, Jean Christophe became responsible for wine production at Domaine Bott-Geyl. In 2000, he made the decision to become more sustainable and started organic production within the vineyards.
Modernity, Tradtition, and Sustainability, the Aim of Domaine Bott-Geyl
In 2002, the winery converted all vineayrds to biodynamic farming practices. The aim of Domaine Bott-Geyl is to bring together modernity, tradition, and protect ecology all at the same time. The vinification process is done in such a way that it creates truly unique wines. At Domaine Bott-Geyl, Jean’s search for authenticity does not follow any trends. He focuses directly on nature and his experiences at wine producers in France, Germany, and in the countries of a New World.
