Dowie Doole, A Story of Two Terroir and Time
The Dowie Doole sits perfectly in the Fleurieu region of South Australia, McLaren Vale within the southern Mount Lofty Ranges. Founded in 1955 by Drew Dowie and Norm Doole, the estate stays close to the Gulf of St Vincent to the west, providing a Mediterranean climate that gives exceptional flavor and generosity in their premium wines. The main goal of Dowie Doole is to craft wines that capture the essence of the vineyards in which they were grown and the vintage in which they belong. They offer high-class wines that are made with a lot of heart and mind. Dowie Doole vineyards are in the Tatachilla and Blewitt Springs sub-region of McLaren Vale which are certified organic/ biodynamic and some in conversion.

Their Vineyard, A Healthy Living Ecosytem
The advocates of sustainable viticulture manage the vineyard with minimal intervention to the vines. The 53 hectares vineyard of Tatachilla is biodynamic with undulating and picturesque landscape plated to classic varietals of the region including Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, and over 50-year-old bush vine Grenache. The 35 hectares estate of Blewitt is the newest addition which is located in the rolling hills of Blewitt Springs. The Grenache and Shiraz vines were saved from the 1980s vine pull schene and the age ranges from 50-70 years old.
