A family run winery in the heart of charming Alsace
The EARL Marzolf Lucien & Fils winery is in the Voegtlinshoffen commune in the Alsace region in France. It is a small family estate belonging to the third generation in the heart of the Alsatian vineyards.
A stone’s throw from beautiful Colmar
The farm of EARL Marzolf Lucien & Fils consists of 9 ha, which is located 10 km south of Colmar.
The vineyards of the winery are located on the hills of the Vosges, between 200 and 400 meters above sea level
This helps the vineyard benefit from maximum solar radiation thanks to the slope of the hills and the altitude of the vines. The often very hot and sunny late season allows the slow ripening of the grape berries, thus noble rot develops, and the winemaker can carry out late harvests which take place a few weeks after the official harvest. The wines thus harvested will offer great concentration.
Careful processing of the grapes guarantees excellent wines
The grapes from the vineyards are poured whole into the press without crushing or destemming so as not to damage it. The grape varieties produced are Sylvaner, Muscat, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir and Gewurztraminer. Pressing of the grapes is done slowly and gently. After fermentation, the wines are aged until spring. They produce them under the AOC appellation. The wines are sold under labels such as Crémant d’Alsace, Vin d’Alsace Riesling, Sylvaner, Muscat, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir and Gewurztraminer. The prime categories of wines made at the winery are red, white and sparkling wines.
