Experience the Heritage and Craftsmanship of Alsace Wines
Etienne Simonis: A Renowned Alsatian Winery
Located in the picturesque Alsace wine region, the Etienne Simonis winery spans 7 hectares, primarily in Ammerschwihr, with additional vineyards in Kaysersberg, Bennwihr, and Sigolsheim. The Simonis family has a rich history of viticulture in Ammerschwihr dating back to the 17th century. In 1969, René Simonis replanted the vineyard on land passed down from his father, and in 1975, he established the winery in Moulins, which remains the estate's home today.
Crafting Quality Wines at Etienne Simonis
In 1996, Etienne Simonis took over the winery after René's retirement. He focused on expanding the vineyard while reducing yields to enhance quality. By blending traditional family techniques with modern technology, Etienne produces exceptional wines. His education in Beaune further enriches his winemaking approach. The family now cultivates vines in the prestigious Kaefferkopf and Marckrain Grand Cru areas. Wines are aged in a combination of oak tuns, stainless steel tanks, and 228-liter oak casks. Most of the vineyard has earned the Agriculture Biologique organic farming label, and the team employs biodynamic practices to ensure the highest quality.
