Etna Urban Winery is a charming winery located just outside Catania, a short bus or Uber ride from the city center.

Viticulture at the Winery

For nearly 200 years, our family cultivated vines and produced wine until the viticulture crisis of the 1960s halted production. In 2018, eight cousins reignited this family tradition, with our first harvest in 2021. We proudly represent the essence of Etna wine today, enriched by our deep historical roots. As the only commercial winery in Sicily affiliated with the Urban Vineyards Association, we join a prestigious network of urban vineyards from cities like Milan, Paris, and New York.

Join us for a guided tour every morning at 9:30 am to see our unique urban vineyards in Catania's suburbs. The tour includes a stroll through ancient pathways, an oak forest, a lush olive grove, and 18th-century historical buildings. We also visit the 1790 Palmento, an ancient winery recognized as a cultural monument by the local heritage authority.

After the tour, guests can enjoy a tasting of four exquisite Etna wines paired with gourmet tapas crafted by our resident chef. Alternatively, guests can arrive at 11:30 am for the tasting and then explore the winery at their leisure until closing time.

A very nice experience within the estate: a magnificent place facing Etna. The tour in English was perfectly clear and the hosts very nice. Special mention to the wine tasting accompanied by gourmet tapas which were delicious. We recommend!

The ancient palmento that welcomed me, for a rich and tasty aperitif, Saturday evening is truly magnificent. I tasted a red Etna, locally produced and I found it exceptional. The place is well heated and well cared for in the smallest details. The welcome and the service were impeccable. The Christmas atmosphere made everything more magical. I will return soon. Thank you

We really enjoyed the winery tour. The owner told us about the history of the family business and took us through the vineyards and winery grounds. After that, we had a tasting with exquisite snacks. The food was absolutely delicious and we didn't expect to enjoy it this much. I highly recommend it to everyone. We also ordered an additional dish, but the main set was sufficient.

We appreciated the structure like never before and we are absolutely happy to have met you and we are grateful to the owner Nicola for everything he did for us. My wife and I really want to praise Martina's fantastic organizational skills, once the party was over we immediately realized that if we had not been guided by her nothing would have been as beautiful as it was. Thank you Martina, you thought of everything and you were fantastic. Thanks also to Leonardo for his cuisine which was of excellent taste and appreciated by all the guests.
