Coming from a great wine region in Italy: Sicily, Quattrocieli aims to bring the Sicily wine to the world that defines all the colours, the scents, the notes, the lights and the perfumes of Sicily.
Quattrocieli is organic to its core
Respecting nature and the land that gives to them has always been a number one priority for Quattrocieli. And hence is their strict adherence to remaining loyal to organic viticulture. As they quote “To create good wines it is necessary to know the earth, understand it and dialogue with it”. One couldn’t agree more. Work on the land is followed in traditional techniques : pruning, suckering, tying and weed eradication. External parties like chemical fertilizers, pesticides and fungicides are kept off the vineyards. Instead Quattrocieli accepts sulphur and verdigis or fertilizes the soil with field beans. The vineyards mostly consist of native vines that follow the slow passing of seasons, Quattrocieli take it as far doing work by hand and without any forced ripening times.
A Winery based on a Generous Land
Spread across 20 hectares of vineyards that have been distributed in 4 different areas : Alcamo, Gibellina, Calatafimi and Salaparuta, all contribute to the viticulture in equal ways. These areas have different soil and different climates but come together to serve Quattrocieli’s purpose at the end. The region of Sicily has a quite a reputation
Balancing Land and Traditiona Like Anything
A Young Sicilian company started in 2015, that grew from a dream; it is safe to say that Quattrocieli have already made quite an impact and they are pretty determined to abide by their values and beliefs. Quattrocieli was found with an aim to produce fresh and genuine wine with excellent taste that would be a blend of modernity and tradition. And that is exactly what they are doing.
