Ettore Germano – The Result of Passion, Traditon, and Evolution
Run by fourth generation of winemakers, Ettore Germano is a family wine estate located in Serralunga d’Alba, between the magnificent Barolo hills. Over the years, the family land has increased three-fold with ten hectares of vineyards in Serralunga d’Alba and nine hectares in Ciglièin the Alta Langa. Respecting the family traditions and fertile terroirs, the owner Sergio Germano delivers high-end wines, including sparkling, red, and white wines.
Innovative Winery in Serralunga d’Alba Since 1856
A beautiful story was started in the mid-1850s by Sergio’s great-grandfather, Francesco. Along with son Alberto, Francesco cultivated the vineyards and sold the grapes to local winemakers and friends. The true founder of the brand was Ettore Germano, the son of Alberto and father of Sergio. Ettore started producing his own wines in the mid-20th century. He restored ancient vineyards in the 60s and later in 1975 established the winery. In 2005, Ettore passed away and his son, Sergio Germano took the winery’s command in his hands. Sergio expanded the winery business by introducing state-of-the-art winemaking techniques and purchasing more hectares in Lazzarito, Cerretta, and Serralunga d’Alba.
Vines that Reflects the Essence of Terroirs
Grape farming has been the primary vocation of the Germano family for more than 160 years. The continuous evolution, sticking to conventional methods, and sheer commitment are the three pillars of success of Ettore Germnao Winery. Sergio restored many ancient vine plots where today he grows high-quality Nebbiolo, Barbera, Dolcetto, Chardonnay, Nascetta, Rieslign, and Pinot Noir. The winery and its vineyards are open all years and welcome visitors to have a closer view of the work in the vineyards.
