From a History of Garesio

Over the years, the Garesio family’s passion for wine has evolved into a constant and punctual search for the best wine-making locations.
Since 2010, the family has acquired approximately 20 hectares of vineyard land in Serralunga d’Alba, the Langhe del Barolo’s heartland; Incisa Scapaccino and Castelnuovo Calcea in Monferrato; and Perletto in Alta Langa.

Tradition and Respect for the Land

The oenological selections are characterized by a complete recognition of the territory’s vines, emphasizing the greatness of the crus and terroir, the nature of the vines, and the unique characteristics that each may impart to wines.
The winery operates in the vineyard with a rational and non-invasive philosophy: minimal interventions, only when necessary, and spin to spin study.
Because of the strong concern for their vineyards, Garesio has chosen a vineyard management that is even more environmentally conscious. As a result, Garesio plants certified organic Nebbiolo grapes, while the rest of the company’s grapes are certified as sustainable integrated production.

A Clear Understanding of Winemaking

The estate has its own distinct vision of wine: the most genuine reflection of the region, never monumental, but always welcoming and approachable.
Vinification is done in the classic sense, with the greatest technology available, with the goal of conserving the wine’s varietal purity while avoiding irritation. As a result of the knowledge that each crop has its own unique value and personality, the vinification process is timed to coincide with harvests, enhancing their own characteristics.
Garesio loves traditional fermentation and extensive maceration in steel barrels, as well as delicate and balanced extraction. Such rigor in each step of the winemaking process surely results in the best wines, which have won the highest ratings from wine experts.
