Seven Generations of Winemaking
Ghio Roberto-Vigneti Piemontemare is a family-owned estate with a rich history dating back to 1881. Nestled in the picturesque municipality of Bosio, this winery spans 24 hectares of stunning terraces, streams, and woodlands, making it the highest point in the Gavi and Ovada areas. Its proximity to the Ligurian Sea enhances the unique terroir, allowing for the production of exceptional wines that reflect the region's character. For seven generations, the Ghio family has dedicated themselves to crafting wines that honor their heritage and the land.
Tradition and heritage preserved like fine wine
Rediscover Ancient Flavors of Piedmont
The winery produces three distinguished DOCG wines from the Gavi, Ovada, and Alta Langa regions. Each grape variety from the vineyards—Pian Lazzarino, Della Vecchia, dell'Arciprete, Delle Zucche, Della Cascina, Zané, Piasi, Pilomberto, and Fistonia—is vinified separately. This meticulous approach ensures maximum expression of each vineyard's unique characteristics. The Ghio family's passion for viticulture, combined with a commitment to environmental stewardship, results in wines that are authentic and reflective of their origins.
Commitment to Eco-Sustainability
At Ghio Roberto-Vigneti Piemontemare, sustainability is a core value. The winery practices a zero-tolerance policy for herbicides in the vineyards and minimizes sulfur use in the cellar. They also repurpose vine wood for heating, utilize lightweight bottles, and engage in partial recycling, all contributing to a more sustainable winemaking process.
