Glandore Winery: A Gem in Hunter Valley

Located on Broken Rd, Glandore Estate Wines was founded in 2005 with the acquisition of the Brokenback Chardonnay vineyard.
From the outset, the winery has focused on crafting wines that reflect the unique character and style of the Hunter Valley's regional grape varieties.

Guests can enjoy a stay at the winery's Homestead, which offers breathtaking views of the Brokenback Mountain range. It’s an ideal spot to unwind and appreciate the tranquility of nature.

A Diverse Selection of Grape Varieties

At Glandore Estate, winemaking begins with selecting grapes from some of the oldest vineyards in Hunter Valley. In addition to traditional varieties, the winery has introduced new grape varietals, including Sangiovese, Nebbiolo, Pinot Noir, cool-climate Chardonnay, Semillon, Gewürztraminer, Fiano, and recently, Tempranillo. The finest grapes are carefully harvested to produce their renowned red, white, rosé, sparkling, and dessert wines.

Wine Tasting with Friends

The exceptional quality of Glandore wines stems from meticulous winemaking practices. Most processes, from handpicking to manual basket pressing, are done by hand. Fermentation and aging occur under controlled temperatures to achieve the desired flavor profiles. The winery is dedicated to small-batch production, ensuring attention to detail. The Cellar Door provides a welcoming space for friends to enjoy wine tastings, paired with a European cheese board or chocolate, making for a delightful experience.

We had the pleasure of visiting Glandore for the wine and chocolate pairing experience. Our host, Steve, was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and explained processes and reasons for the types of chocolates for the wines. It was definitely an absolutely delicious highlight of our visit to the Hunter Valley. So, so glad we did this visit. Would Recommend anyone to try this experience.

We got here around 10 am when it opened, and there was no one there. It made our tasting quite enjoyable as we had the host all to ourselves, and we could sit and enjoy the view in peace - along with our little platter. The decor and outlook are so lovely. We ended up purchasing two wines, and we will definitely be back again to spend more time here!

What an amazing time wine tasting with Glandore. After going to another winery , with no booking and being shunned away, we had one last attempt before the drive home, and we stopped at Glandore. Very welcoming and accommodating of our two kids, who were over it by then too. The greeting from sunny the dog a highlight of their day. Then the lovely English lady (sorry forgot name) went through some amazing and a lot of wines for us. Some chocolate frogs for the kids , and some adult truffle chocolates , the experience was complete. What was meant to be a quick stop , ended up staying for well over an hour or so. After swearing not to buy any wine on this trip, we walked out with a couple of cases and a box of truffles. Definitely be back to do the "full experience" next time in the hunter. Thanks Glandore , appreciate your hospitality 🙏👌🥂

We had the most incredible experience with Steve at Glandore. We were seated in the member’s lounge with incredible views on a beautiful sunny day. The wine tasting experience was exquisite, Steve was both knowledgeable and friendly. We learned a lot from him today. He also gave us some great recommendations for our trip in Hunter Valley and other wine regions in Australia. Easily one of our best wine tasting experiences we have ever had. Cannot recommend enough!

Lovely place to enjoy wine and chocolate. Amazing how the wines can really change the flavour of the chocolate. Each pairing was delightful. For the non drinkers, there is a chocolate and sparkling tea option too for $15! My wife and I really enjoyed the experience. Highly recommend
